Miranda IM is an extremely fast IM client which supports several IM protocols, it has the particularity of consuming very little resources. Miranda IM is also portable requiring no installation. What's really remarkable is that it is modular meaning its functionality can be expanded through plugins. This makes of Miranda IM one of the most versatile and customizable apps on the IM multi-protocol market. Today I'm going to tell you all how to get started with Miranda IM and not die trying.
Interface and Functionality
Miranda IM's compact interface allows you to perform most typical chat operations such as send files and check the chat history and profiles. On the Options window you will find a panel full of parameters and options to customize its behavior, from the avatars view to keyboard shortcuts. Menus, sounds and notifications can be modified as well as the icons you see in the contacts list window.
