MPlayer Tutorial #4 – How to Manage Your Playlists
MPlayer is an great free media player which most remarkable peculiarity is its modular interface making of it extremely easy to use and due to its lightweight it can be run in a wide variety of systems. This free media player offers extensive file type support allowing you to play multimedia files in almost any format you may come across. Today's tutorial is about managing your playlists with MPlayer.
First of all I recommend that you have MPlayer ready to run on your machine. For those who do not have it we've placed a convenient “Download” button above, so, click on it and get the InstallIQTM manager that will take care of the setup process.
Assuming you have read our previous tutorial and have already created a new playlist with your favorite multimedia files, then, you have several management options:
Arrange your media files in the playlist: Regardless the order you've originally loaded the files (songs/videos) you can always alter this order by selecting the files and sending them up or down within the list by clicking the “Up” and “Down” buttons.
In the same MPlayer Playlist dialog you can remove songs or movies from the playlist, all you have to do is click the “Remove” button.
You can also save your playlist, click on the “Save” button and an explorer like dialog will appear, here you can enter a name and browse your folder to select a location, playlists are saved in the .pls file format.
And if you have previously saved a playlist you can load it by clicking on the “Load” button, a similar explorer-like dialog will appear where you can browse your folders.
As you can see managing your playlists is easy and straightforward, you can conveniently arrange, remove, save and lod your own playlists to enjoy your favorite tracks or movies in the best way.
