Gimp has two main palettes: the first is called Toolkit and at first sight we have that the menus we could find in previous versions were removed and taken to the main window, leaving only the title and two panels: on the upper one we find the direct access to major tools and the Foreground & background colors icon that gives access to the color selection dialog. The lower panel is where tools options are showed, this area is sensitive to context, which means that the content of this area changes when we change the tool.
